It’s been a week now since Game of Thrones took its final bow with a controversial series finale, but there’s still another week to go before HBO has to face its first truly Thrones-free Sunday night. That’s because the network gave us a parting gift of sorts on Sunday night via Game of Thrones: The Last Watch — a two-hour behind-the-scenes look at the making of the series’ eighth and final season.

Very good boy crashes high school graduation, ‘waters’ the plants in the middle of class photo

Graduation is a big day in the life of a high school student. It’s the final step in a journey that takes years and regardless of what lies beyond — be it college, technical training, or a plunge into the workforce — it’s cause for celebration. Charlie feels the same way.

Charlie is a dog. More specifically, he’s the Walls family dog and Logan Walls, a member of the class of 2019, is a student at Horseshoe Bend High School in Alabama. The school, which is just a stone’s throw from the Walls home, is one of Charlie’s favorite places to visit, and he apparently does so quite a bit. So, when the pup arrived at the outdoor graduation ceremony for the 2019 class, nobody thought much of it. That is, until the forces of nature got the better of him.

Just when it looked like this might be another slow week, the first day of the month managed to sneak in on Saturday to inundate us with new content. I won’t bother listing all the highlights of this week, but 50/50, The Dark Knight, and Magic Mike all belong in your queue. And I don’t know a lot about Always Be My Maybe, but I do like Ali Wong and Randall Park a whole lot (plus, Keanu Reeves is in it, so it’s probably a must watch).

Sadly, we’re also losing both Kill Bill volumes, Apollo 13, a few direct-to-video Disney, Friday the 13th, and, worst of all, An Extremely Goofy Movie. No, it’s not the stone cold classic the original was, but it’s a solid sequel! You’re just going to have to trust me on this one.

If Netflix wants to keep growing, it has to keep making content like ‘Rim of the World’

%name If Netflix wants to keep growing, it has to keep making content like ‘Rim of the World’ by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Screenwriter, producer, and director Drew Pearce once lamented to me that Hollywood has basically given up on the idea of making anything but blockbusters with insane budgets and then small art house films on the other end of the spectrum that tend to rake in plaudits come award season. The way he put it, these days “studios basically just make $5 million movies or $200 million movies.”

That’s one reason why writers like Zack Stentz are increasingly falling thankfully into the open arms of Netflix, which on Friday debuted Stentz’s new film Rim of the World about misfit kids at summer camp who team up to fight aliens.

Boston man says someone broke into his house, cleaned it, then left

Discovering that someone had broken into your home while you were away is a terrifying thing. What did they want? What did they break, rummage through, or steal? These are questions that were surely running through the head of Nate Roman, a Boston man who returned home from work earlier this month to find that his front door was open.

Initially believing he may have accidentally left the door unlocked, he investigated a bit and discovered that everything in the house was, well, clean. In fact, entire rooms had been tidied up while he was away and, while nothing appeared to be missing, he immediately contacted authorities.

John Wick 3 stole Avengers: Endgame’s crown at the box office last week, but it might not hold on to it for too long considering that Disney’s Aladdin remake hits theaters this weekend. And you can bet there are plenty of Aladdin fans out there who will want to see what Disney has done with this iconic tale, especially considering this is the live-action version. Also out this week is Brightburn, that disturbing anti-Superman hero story we’ve told you about in the past, as well as a new silly high school comedy, Booksmart.

All in all, it should be a great weekend at the cinema, providing you with ample entertainment choices to make you forget all about the Game of Thrones TV series that you’ve grown to hate. By the way, Endgame is still playing and it’s getting closer and closer to beating Avatar’s box office record. We also have a few interesting new trailers this week, including the first trailer for Schwarzenegger’s new Terminator flick.

Some people are happy to spend hundreds or even more than $1,000 on an iPhone and then roll the dice by not protecting it with a case. We can totally understand not wanting to ruin Apple’s design with a big, bulky case, but you can still protect your phone from scratches. Check out the TOZO Ultra-Thin Hard Cover for iPhone, which is only $8.99 on Amazon. It’s paper thin so it won’t really help with drops, but it’ll do a great job of stopping scratches and swirls that would otherwise be inevitable.

The world’s smallest McDonald’s just opened, but only bees are invited

%name The world’s smallest McDonald’s just opened, but only bees are invited by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

If you’re looking for a McDonald’s restaurant in Sweden, you just gained another option. A first-of-its-kind McDonald’s location was recently built in the country, and it caters to a very specific crowd. Oh, and you probably won’t be able to fit through the front door, unless you happen to be a bee of course.

The McHive, created by marketing firm Nord DDB, is a pint-sized McDonald’s eatery complete with modern decor and of course the golden arches flying high above. As the name suggests, the McHive is built for bees — the interior is actually a bee box where the insects can live — and it’s just the latest example of how the company is stepping up its efforts to protect the vital insects in the country.
