Hey, Sophie Turner, the ‘Game of Thrones’ season 8 writing is what’s disrespectful

%name Hey, Sophie Turner, the ‘Game of Thrones’ season 8 writing is what’s disrespectful by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

The eighth Game of Thrones season is finally over, and so are our dreams about getting the satisfying Game of Thrones story we wanted. Even before the finale aired it was clear we were witnessing the worst Game of Thrones season in history, and a disaster for HBO, in spite of those record viewing numbers. The last episode happens to be the worst in the entire series, and it only needed less than 12 hours to achieve that.

After episode 4, which was the worst episode ever until the finale, a fan started a Change.org petition asking HBO to remake the final season with competent writers — almost 1,400,000 people signed it, as of this writing. Some Game of Thrones stars reacted after hearing about it. Kit Harington told people to go “fuck themselves,” Isaac Hempstead Right thought it’s ridiculous, while Emilia Clarke actually shared with the world what she’d most want to see in a season 8 reshoot. But, Sophie Turner, it’s just wrong to say that the petition is “disrespectful.” If anything, it’s the Game of Thrones season 8’s writing that is disrespectful to fans.

Sony will launch a brand new PlayStation generation next year, the PS5, which has been making the news on a regular basis lately. We expect the new console to be much faster than its predecessor and set new standards for console gaming, and that’s something we could have said about any next-gen PlayStation that Sony launched in the past. But recent reports have provided actual details about the PS5, and we finally have a video that shows us how incredibly fast and smooth gaming on the PS5 should feel compared to the PS4 Pro, which is the most potent PlayStation you can buy right now.

Ren Zhengfei, the billionaire founder of beleaguered Chinese electronics giant Huawei, sat down with Chinese state media on Tuesday to offer his response to the dramatic turn of events from over the weekend — namely, Google’s decision to cut off Huawei phones from Android updates. Which looked to some outsiders as a potentially crippling blow for the company that derives almost half its handset sales from outside China.

Zhengfei, a former engineer in China’s People’s Liberation Army before founding Huawei, tried to quell some of the uncertainty that’s built around the company over the last few days in the interview, portions of which have been reported by the South China Morning Post. The gist of his comments — blame Trump, not Google.

Emilia Clarke reveals what she would want from a ‘Game of Thrones’ season 8 remake

%name Emilia Clarke reveals what she would want from a ‘Game of Thrones’ season 8 remake by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

The Game of Thrones finale has finally aired, and we know exactly what happens to all of our favorite characters that are still left alive. The last episode is in many ways a lot better than everything we saw this season, but the writing is, yet again, this show’s Achilles’ heel. As a long-time Game of Thrones fan, it’s not the destination that I’m not happy about. To quote a different Stark, “part of the journey is the end,” and this ending is just fine for these characters. It’s the journey that’s not that great, especially this season.

The showrunners have rushed through pivotal scenes that could have dramatically altered the way fans reacted to season 8, and eliminated logic and common sense all to needlessly shock the audience. It’s not surprising to see poor reviews for the final three Game of Thrones episodes, and hear that over 1.2 million people penned a petition for HBO to redo season 8 with “competent writers” in just a matter of days. While some stars aren’t happy with the way fans reacted, Emilia Clarke, whose performance as Daenerys is easily one of the highlights of season 8, wouldn’t mind getting more context from the season.

NASA teases completed Mars 2020 spacecraft

NASA’s Curiosity rover, InSight lander, and Reconnaissance Orbiter are all doing remarkable work on and around the Red Planet, but that’s not stopping scientists from pushing ahead with plans to send yet another piece of high-tech hardware to the Martian surface. The Mars 2020 mission will send another rover to Mars, and with just over a year left before the journey is set to begin, it’s crunch time.

In a new blog post, NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory teases the completion of a very important piece of hardware. The Mars 2020 spacecraft, which will carry the rover during its seven-month-long trip from Earth to its destination, is nearly ready for time in the spotlight, but there’s still some work to be done before a launch date can be solidified.

The ‘Game of Thrones’ finale smashed every ratings record in HBO history

%name The ‘Game of Thrones’ finale smashed every ratings record in HBO history by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Sunday’s finale of Game of Thrones may have sparked intense debate over how one of the biggest TV shows in recent memory drew to a close — but at least it went out on top.

The numbers are in, and the official tally is that 13.6 million viewers watched the initial airing of the show, a number that grows to 19.3 million when you add in replays. What’s so epic about those numbers is that they didn’t just set a Game of Thrones record — that’s better than any episode in HBO history has ever done.

NASA’s floating robot ‘bee’ is alive and well aboard the ISS

NASA is betting big on the future of space robots. As automated gadgets become more and more advances, scientists are starting to imagine how robots could not only aid space travelers but perhaps even shoulder some of the load when it comes to various duties.

To explore those possibilities, NASA sent a trio of Astrobee robots to the International Space Station just last month, and the ISS crew is just now getting around to testing them out. In a new post on NASA’s website, the agency teases an early look at the floating bots as astronauts test them out.

New survey finds Netflix original programming is better than HBO’s

%name New survey finds Netflix original programming is better than HBO’s by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

The day after HBO aired the long-awaited series finale of Game of Thrones, Morgan Stanley released the results of research that may give the premium cable network pause. Now that the fantasy series — with its globe-spanning, extremely loyal audience — has taken its final bow, industry watchers have begun speculating about what the future has in store for HBO in a post-Thrones world. Can its existing and forthcoming series like Watchmen, Westworld, Big Little Lies, and so many others hold up in an increasingly fragmented streaming world, especially with deep-pocketed players like Apple and Disney about to enter the fray?

At least according to the just-released Morgan Stanley survey, it seems that HBO is already losing to Netflix in an all-important category.

Someone may have just leaked all of Microsoft’s plans for E3 2019

%name Someone may have just leaked all of Microsoft’s plans for E3 2019 by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

In many ways, E3 2019 will be the last hurrah for this video game console generation. Sony has recently confirmed that it is already deep in development on its PlayStation 4 successor, and Microsoft started talking about the future of Xbox a full year ago. Of course, Sony isn’t actually going to be at E3 this year, which gives Microsoft an opening to, at least temporarily, control the narrative. And a new leak suggests it will do exactly that.

Over the weekend, NeoGAF user Braldryr purportedly spoiled Microsoft’s entire E3 2019 press conference, revealing details about all of the games, hardware, and services that will appear at the show. No one has verified this report, so you should take it all with a grain of salt, but if it’s accurate, Xbox fans have a lot to look forward to.
