Scientists invented a wearable band that controls your body temperature like a personal thermostat

Everyone loves to be comfortable, but what you consider to be a perfect temperature might be drastically different than the temperature preferred by a person sitting just a couple feet away. Whether you work in a large office, or even just live with one or more other people, you know that battles over thermostat settings can be, well, heated.

Researchers from the University of California San Diego have developed a wearable that could completely change the way we think of heating and cooling our bodies. It’s a patch that is designed to be worn around the arm, and it actively modifies skin temperature, making the wearer feel warmer or cooler depending on their own personal preference.

%name Google’s Pixel 3a has a serious problem for some users, and there’s no fix in sight by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Google has been making phones for quite a few years now, both during the Nexus era when other smartphone vendors designed its devices, and especially in the Pixel era where it creates its own hardware. But even so, its Pixel phones still come with flaws, and the Pixel 3a is no exception. Some users are already reporting a pretty serious issue — the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL have been shutting down randomly, and there doesn’t appear to be a fix in sight.

The 5 most shocking moments from Game of Thrones’ series finale

%name The 5 most shocking moments from Game of Thrones’ series finale by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

For better or worse, Game of Thrones is now officially done. The Game of Thrones series finale caps off a wildly controversial final season that many fans of the series have been quite vocal about. But the scathing complaints surrounding the final season didn’t come solely from a vocal minority — Game of Thrones season 8 has had some of the lowest-rated episodes of the series’ decade-long history. A petition asking HBO to scrap the entire season and remake it has amassed more than 1 million signatures, meaningless though it may be. Even some of the cast members themselves have been uneasy about the show’s final season when discussing it in interviews.

What the heck happened? We may never know exactly why the quality of writing was so bad in the show’s last season, but it has certainly been on a downward trajectory that began in season 6. Even at its worst, however, Game of Thrones is still better and more entertaining than most shows out there. Millions upon millions of fans tuned in to see how the series would wrap up on Sunday night, and to see who would end up on the iron throne. Here, we’ll recap the five most shocking things that happened in the Game of Thrones series finale. Several big spoilers follow, so bookmark this post for later if you haven’t yet seen Game of Thrones episode 806, “The Iron Throne.”

Huawei responds to Google’s Android ban and explains what will happen to its Android phones

%name Huawei responds to Google’s Android ban and explains what will happen to its Android phones by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

The US government delivered a crippling blow to Huawei last week, placing the Chinese conglomerate on an “Entity List” that meant Huawei would not be able to acquire any technology from US companies without government approval — and that includes access to critical software such as Google’s Android and Microsoft Windows operating systems. A report over the weekend said that Google is already adhering to the ban, having suspended ties with Huawei for the time being. Huawei has since explained what will happen to its Android phones going forward, just as multiple high-profile companies have also announced cutting ties with the company.

Remember the Starbucks cup? ‘Game of Thrones’ screwed up again with plastic water bottles

%name Remember the Starbucks cup? ‘Game of Thrones’ screwed up again with plastic water bottles by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

The Game of Thrones finale is now history, and it all went down exactly as the leaks said it would. We know who survived season 8, who died, and who took the Iron Throne. The finale, just like the rest of the season, was far from delivering the perfect storytelling we wanted from season 8. Over 1.1 million people have already signed a petition for HBO to redo the show with more competent writers, something that will not happen in 1.1 million years, but at least HBO knows Game of Thrones fans have not appreciated the way the season was constructed. But we’re not going to talk about how the finale ended in what’s about to follow. Instead, we’re going to show you the plastic water bottles that found their way into some of the final Game of Thrones scenes, just like that Starbucks coffee cup earlier in the season — minor spoilers follow if you haven’t seen the finale.

‘Game of Thrones’ stars tell us goodbye in these heartfelt, perfect social media posts

%name ‘Game of Thrones’ stars tell us goodbye in these heartfelt, perfect social media posts by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

And with that, the biggest TV event in recent years is now officially a memory. Eight seasons of Game of Thrones came to a close with Sunday night’s broadcast of the sixth and last episode of the show’s final season (*Spoilers* to follow, of course). The decision to appoint Bran as king of Westeros may have been a turn of events few saw coming — fitting, in a way, given that this series has frequently taken the road less traveled when it comes to the story and given us one surprise after another over these many years.
