Well, that’s a heck of a revision. Back in March, as part of a disclosure about Facebook having learned that some user passwords were being stored in plain text and easily searchable by thousands of Facebook employees, the company acknowledged that this included the passwords of “tens of thousands” of Instagram users.

A few weeks after making that initial disclosure in a blog post here, though, Facebook today revised that number to “millions,” not tens of thousands. (Whoops!)

A robot that kind of looks like Wall-E’s big brother helped save Notre Dame

%name A robot that kind of looks like Wall E’s big brother helped save Notre Dame by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Notre Dame was reportedly only about 15 to 30 minutes away from a fire completely destroying the historic cathedral earlier this week when Paris firefighters decided to play their last hand. Commander Jean-Claude Gallet knew it was time to send their very best firefighter into the heart of the blaze in a last-ditch effort to save the building.

Needless to say, a lot was riding on Colossus, an 1,100-pound tank of a robot that can spray more than 660 gallons of water a minute, as he rumbled toward the cathedral.

Student used a ‘USB Killer’ to destroy $58,000 worth of computers at his old college

%name Student used a ‘USB Killer’ to destroy $58,000 worth of computers at his old college by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

In a rather bizarre tale, a former MBA student who attended the College of Saint Rose in Albany, New York recently destroyed nearly 70 college-owned computers in various campus computer labs. His mode of attack? A “USB Killer” he purchased online. Originally brought to light via ZDNet, the incident in question occurred on February 14 and, oddly enough, the student accused of the crime — who goes by the name Vishwanath Akuthota — filmed the entire ordeal.

A USB Killer, as the name implies, is essentially a cheap USB stick that will completely fry any computer it’s plugged into by rapidly drawing power from the USB port and then discharging it back in quick succession. Interestingly enough, there have even been instances of folks using a USB Killer to disable infotainment centers on cars.

%name NASA just sent robotic ‘bees’ to the International Space Station by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Do robots have a place in the future of crewed space missions? NASA thinks so, and it’s not the only one. Late last year the ESA launched a robotic assistant known as “CIMON” (Crew Interactive Mobile Companion) to the ISS to help astronauts with a variety of tasks ranging from schedule keeping to basic maintenance.

This week, NASA joined the fray with a pair of floating robots that are just now headed to the International Space Station. NASA calls them “Astrobees” and they’re designed to streamline daily activities for the ISS crew. Yes, we’re truly living in the future.

New ISS astronaut assignments mean Christina Koch will break a huge NASA record

%name New ISS astronaut assignments mean Christina Koch will break a huge NASA record by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

A few weeks back, NASA had anticipated conducting the first all-female spacewalk with astronauts Christina Koch and Anne McClaine on the International Space Station. Unfortunately, due to some last-minute preference changes with McClaine’s space suit sizing the spacewalk was instead conducted by NASA’s Nick Hague and Koch, but it looks like Koch may indeed get her name in the record books anyway.

In a new announcement from NASA, Koch has received an extension to her scheduled stay aboard the International Space Station. She’ll now spend a whopping 328 days in space, meaning that she won’t be returning to Earth until 2020. This will make her the first woman to have stayed in space continuously for that amount of time, beating out the previous 288-day record of retired astronaut Peggy Whitson.

This mind-blowing ‘Avengers: Endgame’ leak will ruin the film for you even if it’s not real

%name This mind blowing ‘Avengers: Endgame’ leak will ruin the film for you even if it’s not real by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Earlier this week, we witnessed a huge unexpected Avengers: Endgame leak. A video shot on a phone revealed several spoilers from the film, and they were all scenes that Marvel never touched on in its marketing and advertising. At the time, I told you that we were only looking at less than five minutes of footage, so it didn’t really spoil the film or make it any less exciting. After all, we still have almost three hours of Avengers 4 action left to watch. Then we saw someone claim on Reddit that he or she had seen the entire film, though we warned you that nothing could be confirmed at this time.

This brings us to today’s mind-blowing spoiler that follows below. Part of me wishes I had never seen it. Part of me really hopes that it’s fan fiction. But both parts want to see it happen in Avengers 4. I have this feeling that advance knowledge about this particular scene will ruin Endgame, regardless of whether the scene is real or fake. If it wasn’t already crystal clear by now, a massive spoiler is about to follow, so proceed only if you’re comfortable with leaks of this magnitude.
