Monday’s box office haul of an estimated $14.2 million has pushed Toy Story 4‘s four-day receipts to just above $135 million, a solid start for the latest installment in the beloved animated franchise that also marks the biggest domestic opening yet for the four Toy Story movies.
It’s a franchise that’s now 24 years old, so to see this level of continued interest in the adventures of Buzz, Woody and the rest of the gang of toys is certainly impressive at a time when there’s more competition than ever at the box office — and, for that matter, on streaming video platforms — for our time and our money.
